A little about me....
I love teaching; it is not only my passion, but my life. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, and take pride in learning something new every day. I earned my Bachelor's from St. Martin's University in Lacey, and completed my Masters degree in 2010 from the University of Washington (Go Huskies!).
For the past few years, I have been teaching fifth grade at Twin Lakes Elementary. I love coming to work and making a difference in kids' lives. Prior to being invited to join the Twin Lakes community of learners, I had the opportunity to serve as a reading specialist at Lakeland Elementary, and was also able to spend time at Green Gables in a multiage classroom during my student internship. I'm fortunate to pull from all of these experiences as I transition into the 2/3 GATE teacher at Twin Lakes.
My daughter, Jaely, and I live in Brown's Point / NE Tacoma.
We love playing at Celebration Park, and exploring new parks whenever we drive past one. I also enjoy hiking, having movie nights at home (as long as there's popcorn!), and traveling. Last summer, I was able to spend a month in Europe - and I can't wait to go back! When you ask my current students what my favorite things are, guaranteed "Starbucks" will be at the top of the list. You'll rarely see me without my morning coffee!
